We started LCR Vehicle Services in January 2021 — right in the middle of the first full lockdown. Not exactly textbook timing to open a business, but we had a small unit on Novers Hill, a handful of tools, and a stubborn belief that Bedminster deserved a garage it could actually trust.
The idea was simple: do proper work, charge fair prices, and treat every customer the way we'd want our own family to be treated. No hidden extras, no scary-sounding diagnoses for jobs that didn't need doing, no talking down to people because they don't know what a crankshaft sensor is.
Four years on, that first unit feels like a long time ago. We've served hundreds of local drivers — cars, vans, everything from runarounds to daily workhorses — and built up a reputation that we're genuinely proud of. A 100% recommend rate on Facebook. Most of our new customers still come from recommendations — a neighbour, a workmate, someone at the school gate. That's how we like it. It means we have to earn every single one, and we take that seriously.
We're not trying to become the biggest garage in Bristol. We'd rather be the one you recommend to your sister when her car starts making a noise. The one where you can ring up on a Tuesday morning and actually speak to the person who'll be working on your car. The one that still answers its own phone.
